Based on lot of research and multiple suggestions from different people, I decided to consult Dr. Vidyadhara S (HOD Spine Department - Manipal Hospital) for my mother Renu Anand's spine problem as she was suffering from Leg pain & numbness since last few years due to her spine issue. From going in an ambulance to returning by car. Yes, this is the story of my mother, who was recently diagnosed with multiple compression fractures in the spine due to severe osteoporosis. She had excruciating pain for several days where she could not move an inch on the bed.

We are absolutely grateful to Dr Vidhyadhara and his team of doctors in Manipal Spine Care, including Dr Bala, who saw her severe disability condition and explained the details of the vertebral surgery. Dr Vidhyadhara has a special way of explaining the details to the patient in a simple way and makes sure they are comfortable and relaxed about the surgery, which is so important.
The entire consultation process, tests, and Kyphoplasty surgery was done in a matter of a few hours in the evening. Thereafter, within a couple of hours inside the recovery hall, the team made her walk as well. It was magical as that excruciating fracture pain was not there. Great experience with Dr. Vidyadhara. My mother had constant pain in her leg below the knees impacting her walks and daily routine. Dr. Vidyadhara diagnosed a nerve being squeezed through the MRI. He recommended us to get epidural injection (to reduce the pain) and not go for surgery (which wasn't required at the stage). We took the injection and my mother is doing just fine. We should have met the doctor earlier. I also want to point out that a surgery would have been financially beneficial for the hospital but the doctor did what was right for the patient. Since 1& half years I was suffering from Sciatica pain in left leg, I have tried all the available options to get rid of this, but no response, then contacted Dr Vidyadhara.
I was in opinion that he is in corporate hospital, so he will suggest surgery, will charge more for consultation, need to wait long hours, but he is very gentle to speak, less waiting period, his diagnosis are accurate. For me he avoided surgery as first line treatment, tried other treatments to avoid surgery... but pain not gone, so done the surgery...Dr Vidyadhara having magic hand, within week I recovered well, 2nd day of surgery got discharged, medicines also not given unnecessarily.

I would like to share my experience with Dr. Vidyadhara S's expertise. He is HOD & Consultant Spine Surgeon at Manipal Spine Care Center, Manipal Hospital, Old Airport Road, Bangalore. Today is exactly 6 months when I went through the surgery by Dr . Vidyadhara S. I was going through immense pain in my back portion of the leg for almost 3-4 years and had multiple Physiotherapy sessions, visited multiple Doctors but of no result. When we got to know about our 6 year young boy (the only child) having a curvature in his spine. We were utterly taken aback! We had no idea about how dreadful this deformity could be! Having advised by the concerned people around, we approached very renowned spine surgeons in India and abroad. But unfortunately a lot of time was wasted in this regard and the curve reached to 86 degree which hampered his physical growth. I am his patient since 12/2020 on account of left leg pain due to disc bulge and sciatica. Before that I had done few exercises, ayurvedic medicine. He had prescribed me Surya namaskar 28 times every day, though i couldn't do that much but it was great relief for me. But due to winter in Bangalore, i couldn't continue it. In 2021 I had undergone epidural injection and deep nerve root block injection, still my pain was not stopped or reduced. Then I had undergone physiotherapy thrice. But after kerala train trip in 4/22 my pain increased and from MRI report he told me discectomy is not enough but disc fusion is required. Till now, I couldn't do what he said due to financial issues and Echs elimination. Undergone ayurvedic and marma treatment by admission in hospital for 22 days in kerala but the result was severe increased pain. Now i am taking homeo medicines for sciatica. Earlier pregabalin tablets couldn't do anything for my pain. But now I am taking that with vit B12 at night.

Providing review for surgery of Degenerative Lumbar Canal stenosis L3-L4-L5

I was suffering from sciatic like pain sundr long. Though i consulted nachu orthopedic doctors but they only kept giving pain killers which never helped. Recently the pain increased so much that I was completely bed ridden and use to cry like anything. I also tried ayurvedic treatment but that also didn't help. Finally went to see Dr. Vidyadhara which was the best decision of my life ever!!

Since 2019, very often I've been suffering from neck pain. However, since November 2021, things had worsened as the neck pain was more persistent with grinding sensation, followed by tingling in both hands. At times, I felt too tired and had difficulty to walk.

We had first visited Dr Vidyadhara for my father's microdissectomy surgery 6 years back. I am 39 year old and have been a low back patient for last 11 years. It has taken me 27 years since I was involved in a fatal accident where I sustained a comminuted compound Y fracture of the knee ( right femur) and a fractured spine. Surgical interventions were done but I ended up with stiff neck and leg. I couldn't lift my right leg or walk over an obstacle. I couldn't look to the sides of my body.

Since Dr Vidyadhara assessed and treated me after an MRI of spine and x-rays of my knee he knew exactly what to do. He injected a spinal, pressure point
and knee injections and collaborated with a Physiotherapist, Dr Abraham.

Dr Abraham assessed me and commenced the physiotherapy program. He worked so hard to achieve the results. He was so skilled and kind. He referred me back to Dr Vidyadhara for follow up who was impressed with the progress. He recommended that I continue physiotherapy for another week.

At the end of two weeks I felt unbelievably good. I was able to look side to side, move my head up and down without restrictions or pain. All the stiffness and pain was gone.

As for the knee I was able to flex, all range of motion improved.

I was given an exercise framework by the Physiotherapist, Dr Abraham to continue exercises at home to prevent recurrence of the previous position I was in.

Very good experience, I consulted Dr. Vidyadhara for my neck pain and upper left limb radicular pain, tingling sensation and weakness in my left arm. Dr. diagnosed the issue and suggested to try medication for 10 days before going for surgery. After 10 days, as situation further degraded, he recommended to have immediate Anterior cervical disc replacement C6-C7 surgery in view of long standing disablity. The surgery was successful and I got discharged after 1 day of hospitalization.

It's 10 days now, the pain has reduced drastically, and am able to do neck movements properly.

I have a lower back pain this 5+ months and it was not going off despite taking several pain killers and NSAIDs. This pain would increase a lot whenever I would sit. I consulted Dr. Vidyadhara and he listened to all the details. When i consulted him, the pain had gotten worse and aside joint muscle spasms, i felt a sensation of electric shocks in my lower back pelvic joints. He suggested the right set of tests and in the interim gave me an epidural injection in spine.

The injection gave relief from the shocking sensation 10 days after the administering but the spasm remains. Nevertheless he diagnosed the problem accurately and referred me to another specialist for an advanced treatment of the issue I had.

Overall, I found the doctor to be knowledgeable and helpful and I do hope that I get rid of this pain permanently.

I was suffering from severe left arm pain , neck pain/stiffness and upper left back pain. First I got treated by orthopedic surgeon and he advised some pain medication and physiotherapy. During my treatment period day by day my condition was worsened and I was unable to tolerate my left arm pain. One of my friend advised to go for second opinion with Dr. Vidyadhar in Manipal Hospital Bangalore. Immediately I rushed to Vidyadhar sir OPD, by seeing my condition he advised to go for MRI.

From the MRI results it was observed that C5 C6 Disc prolapse and vidyadhar sir suggested me to go for surgery. Initially I was afraid of surgery because it's in cervical region, but vidyadhar sir clearly explained about recent technological advancements that reduces 99.0% risk of surgery and he explained about different options in surgery procedures. Dr.Vidyadhar sir suggested for artificial disc replacement for C5 C6 and I also agreed for that and next day only I under gone surgery.

After the surgery I didn't find any left arm pain and neck pain except some minor post operative pain, that was also reduced within 3 day's. After 3rd day of my surgery I came to my normal life and started my routine work.

But the tips he suggested to avoid spine surgery for all are

1. Do 'Suryanamaskar' yoga 25 times daily in the morning.

2. Maintain healthy body weight.

3. Drink plenty of water.

4. Reduce sitting time and take frequent break after every 45 minutes,

5. Maintain proper posture.

6. Quit smoking.

7. Sleep at least 7 hours in a day.

I'm suffering from severe neck pain, C5 disk bulge. Visited so many so-called doctors, all have suggested for surgery (with out surgery can't survive).
After a year of confusion finally in 2014 I've met Dr Vidyadhara sir through one of my friend's friend Mr.Victor (he is also working in Manipal, MRI Dept. Head).

Whatever the pain you are going through, first thing you understand after meeting the doctor is, this is temporary and this can be cured. Thant's the kind of confidence you gain after meeting Dr. Vidyadhar. Which really helps in getting rid of the backpain. I had a L4-L5 disc bulge which was causing extreme pain and I was not able to bend at all. Previous doctor had suggested the bedrest, I did the same for a month. But there was no improvement. When i was browsing randomly, found a video of Vidyadhar where he was explaining about the causes and treatment related to the Backpain. Very next day met the doctor, and got rid of the pain within a week thanks to his accurate treatment. After a month started doing exercises like surya namaskara.

To be honest my experience with Dr. Vidyahara is a word above excellence his care & pleasing words , friendly , politeness with the patient is a half cure . my patient was a Saudi National (my colleagues wife) even though they didn't know much English they came to swift conclusions relying on the expertise the way of explaining ,the pro & cons of the injury if not treated, 3 dimensions visualization. Even after surgery the post surgery care ,pain management @ home physiotherapy, acupuncture all that helped a lot for the swift recovery of the patient

I was suffering from unbearable radiating leg pain from thigh upto my foot on both legs and I was unable to walk properly for almost 8 to 9 months during the period June 2018 till February 2919. I was unable to sleep on bed freely as my legs were hurting me when I was turning from one side to another. I had consulted a number of doctors and everyone gave me pain killers ; some even advised me to undergo physiotherapy, etc. I was tired of eating pain killers and also I had undergone Ayurvedic oil treatment.

At this juncture, my Physician, Dr.K.S.Nanjunda Swamy advised me to consult Dr.Vidyadhara S., Spine Specialist at Manipal Hospital. First I met Dr.VS in Feb. 2019, saw all my X Ray, MRI report and gave me a steroid injection telling that I may get little relief atleast for sometime. But he also made me to understand that if not, next option will be surgery. But the steroid injection did not help me much. Even though I was hesitant to undergo surgery, after vast discussion with the doctor and also with the consent of my husband and children, I agreed to undergo the surgery. I underwent L4S1 Fusion Surgery of spine on 10.03.2019. After surgery on the same day I was able to walk with the help of assistance and on the next day, I could walk without any assistance. I was discharged advising post operative care treatment. The surgery was successful and I am perfectly fine after that without any pain.

Dr.Vidyadhara has a pair of golden magical hands with which he performs all surgeries. He is so friendly, humble with the patients; and at the same time sincere and honest in his profession with vast knowledge. He is also devoted to his work. Good experience with dr vidyadher, first time a doctor Classmate of mine was suffering with severe backache for which he operated and made her walk on the next day onwards. Its over a year now she is happy and living a normal life.

Second time my wife had the same problem and was unbearable pain,no amount of intramuscular injection of analgesics were giving any relief. I was afraid to visit the hospital because of pandemic. Then I spoke to doctor, he assured me and advised me to come to hospital. It was 1 PM I went, she was examined and asked me whether she was nill orally. After all the investigations she was taken to the OT at 6 PM. In two hours she was successfully operated. Next day she was allowed to walk and discharged.

I was suffering from severe leg pain from 1 month due to L5-S1 slip disc.I tried everything from bed rest to homeopathy to accupuncture nothing worked some doctors suggested spine fusion but I was worried since it is not quite successful . When I consulted dr.Vidyadhar he clearly explained how surgery is necessary without which the leg might become weak and long term damage could be irreparable. He performed a 30 min microdiscectomy surgery and in 6 hrs I was up on my feet and could walk without any pain.Dr.Vidyadhar is quite good doctor with good experience in this field. Very reliable.

But manipal admission and discharge counters are quite worst and before surgery they give you certain lab tests to be done. In reality they take blood sample and will not complete those tests. We realised when we went to collect reports for individual tests. They said us our blood sample had bubbles and couldn’t do the tests . They even claimed they called us to give new samples in reality that never happened. If we hadn’t gone back to get reports we would have never known. Plz be careful about this and go and ask for reports for all lab tests.

I had aporoached Dr. Vidyadhar at Manipal Hospital when I was not able to walk one step . Any effort would entail me falling down. Many Specialists in Bangalore and other places told me that it is due to long standing diabetes though my diabetes was always under control. And stamped as Diabetic Neuropathy. Finally while I was holidaying in Norway, when my daughter saw me in such a state, she suggesred to approach a Spine Surgeon. When I checked up online, I found Dr. Vidyadhar a well known and world famous Spine Surgeon. He found that I had a blockage between L2,3 and 4 in my spine. He gave me injection and I travelled alone to USA and back. After sometime, on review, he suggested one more procedure and I am able to walk for an hour in the morning at my age of about 80. Right now, I am travelling in Egypt and Jordan and walked everywhere and completed my travel and returning today, 1st Feb back to Bengaluru.

I received a new lease of life. This problem was persisting for about 4to 5 years. Initially, if I sit somewhere for sometime, I could walk some distance and again look for a chair or bench. I would like to convey my heartfelt thanks to Dr.Vidhyadhar and his team for treating my daughter for Scoliosis. We are in a very dilemma where to get the surgery done or not, Dr. Vidhyadhar was very understanding and connected us to multiple families who have already gone through Scoliosis surgeries. This has helped us to take the right decision for my daughter. We had her surgery done in mid of December and they made her to walk by the end of the surgery day.
